To start your Jaguar with a dead key fob, you’ll need to get inside of your Jaguar manually. You must first retrieve your mechanical key within your key fob. Here are the following steps to retrieve your mechanical key:

Remove the cover on the side of your Jaguar’s key fob.
Once you remove the cover, slide your mechanical key out of your key fob.
Unfold your mechanical key.

XF, XE, F-Pace, E-Pace, and I-Pace Jaguars

  • Under the driver-side door handle cover will be an opening specifically for your Jaguar’s mechanical key.
  • Carefully pry the door handle cover off your Jaguar’s door handle to expose the lock cylinder.
  • Use your mechanical key to open your driver-side door.

F-Type Jaguars

  • Push the front end of your driver-side door handle inward to expose the lock cylinder in the back.
  • Use your mechanical key to open your driver-side door.
  • Once inside your Jaguar, place your key fob on the symbol located on the left or bottom of your steering column cover. Note: Be sure the key fob buttons face outward. Also, the alarm of your Jaguar will stop once it starts.
  • While keeping the key fob in place, push the Start/Stop Button.

If you are still having trouble starting your Jaguar, please contact your local Jaguar dealership or near roadside assistance.
